Good morning Pirates!
A reminder that Action Think Tank meets Tuesday & Thursday after school in the library.
I organized what I coined as Action Think Tank – connecting students with resources and strategies – from here at PHS – to local – to national: to help students kickstart their ideas in the categories of school-life, social, political, community, and entrepreneurial action.
Students wanting to create changes at PHS, students wanting to enter the startup space, students wanting to start a local business, students wanting to start a community action initiative, students wanting to take political action. We are the students- and we are here living life in real time. Anything we set our minds to we can accomplish and we are stronger together!
Bring any and all of your questions / ideas and together we can look at ways Take Action as we move through the school year now in 2024.
Action Think Tank is for all grades, all students plus all staff – all ideas are welcome! Also, with her great energy and keen eye on execution, our own Rock Star Librarian – Mrs. Ellis is here to help us. I am grateful to have her as a resource for this group and during this school year.

The Polson Speech and Debate team killed it at the Frenchtown Invitational yesterday!
Congratulations to all hard working members of team Polson for putting it all on the field!
I placed 1st in Lincoln Douglas debate and would like to thank Coach Butler and the rest of the team!
Remember that our team would love to welcome more students, and it’s not too late to join.

Good morning Pirates!
The Polson Speech and Debate team had an excellent time at the Kalispell Kickoff yesterday!
Congratulations to our veteran Dramatic Interpretation artist Wica-ta-wi Hoksina Brown for getting 5th place, especially at such a competitive meet.
Being my second meet ever, I’m super excited that I placed 6th in Lincoln Douglas debate, and would like to give a huge shoutout to Coach Butler and the rest of the team! Y’all have been an amazing support and I wouldn’t be able to have such an early success without such a great group of people.
Remember that our team would love to welcome more students, and it’s not too late to join.
Feel free to pull up to our HOME MEET next Saturday here in Polson! Ask your parents or any adult you know if they would be interested in judging, there are no prerequisites, and they can set their own schedule for what time of day they’d like to come in.

Good morning Pirates!
Has anyone heard about the case against the State of Montana: Held v. Montana? It marked the first major win for environmentalists who have sought to hold states constitutionally responsible for ensuring their citizens live in a clean environment.
If you did not know, one of the youth plaintiffs, Taleah Hernández, is from Polson MT and is a recent graduate of Polson High School!
Examples like hers have prompted me to organize what I am calling Action Think Tank. It is all about connecting students with resources and strategies from local and national organizations to help students kickstart their ideas in the categories of political, community, and entrepreneurial action.
Students wanting to enter the startup space, students wanting to start a local business, students wanting to start a community action initiative, students wanting to take political action. We are the students- and we are here living life in real time. Anything we set our minds to we can accomplish and we are stronger together!
Stayed tuned once we have a schedule. I will update this page with all the information.

Happy Homecoming!!
This week has been an absolute blast. Never have I seen this much school spirit here at Polson High!
On Wednesday, I spent the day building the sophomore float with a very special group of Class of 26’ers! Big shoutout to Marshal Kok for providing the BOAT! It was perfect for this year’s homecoming theme (Battle for the Paddle), and really set apart our creation from the other grades. Better yet, we completed double the work (this year we also decorated the Spirit Sheet) in half the time (Wednesday was just a half-day), and our float looks way better than last year!
The parade on Friday really brought it home for all us Pirates and marked the end of a truly exciting and successful week.
Good luck to our Pirate football players at today’s game and to our Lady Pirate volleyball players tomorrow!

To all Pirates of PHS…thank you so much for allowing me to be your class president for another year!
It started for me last year as Freshman Class President. I learned alot attending BOG meetings, working with Mr Fors and other BOG folks.
I am ready to roll this year once again. Anything I can do to help just ask.
In addition to being an unobliterated PHS school spirit booster, my job is to act as a liaison between the students, teachers and admin here at PHS.
And all are welcome to get involved. You, any student, can get involved as a Student Representative. We can work together to make this year fun for everyone.
Come talk to me and we can set you up. This year is going to be one for the record books!
Here is some info from our STUDENT AND PARENT HANDBOOK:
STUDENT GOVERNMENT:
Polson High School has an established student government referred to as B.O.G. (Board of Governors). The PHS B.O.G. is made up of elected representatives from each grade level. The Executive Power includes Student Body President, Student Body Vice President, Student Body Secretary, and Student Body Treasurer. Each class will also have an elected President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Any student that is not elected to an office can choose to be involved as a Student Representative. The primary purpose of our Board of Governors is to enrich the student experience through coordination of school events and activities. B.O.G. evaluates plans and ideas for events such as homecoming and pulls the school’s resources together for the best possible results. It also helps coordinate special dances, assemblies and other student activities.
